Karen Saylors, Ph.D. is a medical anthropologist by training and has 10 years of experience implementing and managing projects in diverse cultural contexts. She has managed large teams in field research, behavioral health service provision, and research and evaluation in the US and in Africa. Karen was Director of Research and Evaluation for a Native American non-profit organization for five years, engaging community readiness approaches appropriate to various cultures. Karen lived in Africa for the past two years running health research projects for non-profit organizations, for Medecins Sans Frontiers and most recently with the Global Viral Forecasting Initiative, where she is Chief Operating Officer.
